The double team boys had an away match at Wortley Juniors Blues. They drew the first match 1-1, see below for match report from the second match:
Result: 0 – 5
We travelled to sunny Wortley to take on the team that had beaten us 2 – 0 earlier in the season. After a strong start from both teams, neither team was able to break the deadlock. Half time and 0 – 0, we discussed some areas that we could improve and set to work to get a win and another 3 points. A very strong second half saw some great build up play and 5 goals, solid defending and some brave goalkeeping allowed the boys to keep a well-deserved clean sheet. The MOM award was the hardest decision that we have had to make in recent weeks, due to the fact that all the team had played well.
MOM - Harvey
The single team boys had a home match vs Tingley Tigers, who are riding high near the top of the league.Result - 0-5
In warm conditions, the boys started off well, with a missed chances at both ends. Through a mixture of heat and injuries, the subs were well used. Howver, we tired towards the end of the first half, conceding a couple of goals.
The boys continued to battle bravely in the second half with some good goalkeeping and hard work in midfield, however Tingley scored another 3 goals towards the end of the match.
Despite the scoreline, our defending is improving, with the focus for training on Thursday night to be on improving our passing and shooting.
The friendly team boys had a credible 0-0 draw, with a memorable save from Jack Dawson keeping Tingley out, whilst a great save from their keeper kept Harry from scoring what would have been the winning goal!
